Oops...

I had the best of intentions last night for going to the gym, honestly I did. Then Ryan took me out to dinner, we made a stop at a Halloween party and after picking Noah up we didn't get home until after midnight. I was SOOO tired and I couldn't bring myself to go. The one day I could have really used it after dinner and I spaced until it was too late. So I'm going to try and go tonight...maybe. We've got family in town so I might not.

I went with yet another new partner tonight, C. It was a good workout, 60 min and 4.5 miles plus 25 sit ups. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Day 11...and I'm DONE!

With scales. I'm taking the advice of some of you and not going near one of those horrible contraptions EVER again! I got on this morning only to discover...you guessed it, three more pounds GAINED! Lame. So now I'm just going to go by how I look, feel and how the clothes fit. Now that I've gained 6 pounds in two weeks, I'm thinking of giving my weight loss a kick start by doing a boiled chicken, brown rice and veggie diet for a week and then gradually adding other things back in. We'll see...

This morning I had the time of my life in zumba! I can't get enough! I'm now doing some of the moves while humming the tune at home to entertain Noah. He loves it too! And I get to continue my workout. Anyway, I'm sorry, it's just exciting to find exercise that I like so much.

So an hour in class today and I'm still trying to work out plans for tomorrow. I've been to the gym or done something to exercise the last 11 out of 15 days! Wow! New record for me.

Days 9 and 10!

Sunday I went for a short 10min "walk" around the neighborhood with K. More like a stroll but I wasn't intending to workout on Sunday anyway so...meh.

Monday I couldn't find a single person to go with me and believe me I tried HARD! I was going back and forth with myself about going alone and what do you know, I surprised myself and just did it! It was kinda fun to go alone although I would still much rather have someone next to me. But now I know I can and will go alone if I have to.

Monday I did 30 min and 2 miles on the elliptical, 30 min and 4 miles on the bike, 50 crunches, and about 20 each lat pulls and chest press.

Today I went with a new partner, also an A but I'll call this one AB :). So AB and I went tonight and I did 60 min and 4.35 miles on the elliptical. I also did maybe 15 reps on chest press. A great effort and I'm glad to have another partner option. No offense A! I just love having someone to go with.

Tomorrow morning I'm doing Zumba at 930 and at this point it's alone again...but it's one that I wouldn't miss for anything so I'm pretty sure I'll be there. :) I can't believe how addicting Zumba is. CRAZY!

Wish me luck, tomorrow is the 2 week mark and I'm hoping it goes better than last week...

Day 8!!!!

It's getting easier and a lot more fun to go to the gym! Especially when I do a class. This morning Abra and I did the bodycombat class. It was an excellent workout but I'm not sure I would do it again. At least with the instructor we had this morning.

It was a lot like tae bo with a boxing themed workout. The guy was just SUPER corny and I got tired of his commentary pretty quickly. So again, maybe I'll try once more with a different person and then make my final judgment.

Awesome workout in the end though.

Day 7 going strong!

A and I didn't make it to the gym yesterday or this morning but Abra came to visit for the weekend and she and I went to Zumba at 430. It was even better than last time because I now had someone to laugh with when I looked horrible.

So I did my hour and felt fabulous and to make up for missing Thursday, Abra and I are going to try and hit the BodyCombat class tomorrow morning at 930. I can't wait to try something new!

I also took my measurements and before pictures today. I will NOT be posting those...weight is about all this girl can handle. But now I'll have some comparisons for when I start thinking it's not enough or I still look awful.

Day 6 disappointment

Well, I managed to gain three pounds this week and I'm totally bummed. There's nothing worse than working hard for something and getting the opposite result. Everyone keeps telling me it's muscle and that might be the case, it doesn't change the way I feel about it. I guess I'll have to work even harder this week.

Tonight I only did an hour at the gym instead of my regular two.
30 min and 2 miles on the elliptical.
50 crunches
5 min of free weights
1o min circuit training weights
10 min and 1.5 miles on the stationary bike

A and I made plans for Friday morning, hopefully it goes better than last week... :)

Day 5 ZUMBA!!

Well tonight didn't work out for A and I to go together but I shocked myself by going anyway. ALONE! I'm so proud of me! :) I was able to go early enough to hit a class. I did an hour of ZUMBA. Most I've sweat since I started all this hands down! It's a Latin/Samba inspired dance aerobics class.

During the first 10 min I almost walked out. I felt like a fool, I have NO rhythm so I wasn't hitting any of the steps and my legs were already killing me. But then I started looking around and realized EVERYONE was about as bad as I was. After that I stopped caring and just tried to move as big as I could to the beat. It was quite fun after that. I hope to get to go again soon. Tomorrow I weigh in and I'm hoping it's good news...I also have plans with K to walk in the early evening and A to hit the gym around 10. I can't believe it's already been a week!

So so sore...day 4

It actually felt nice to get back to the gym after the weekend. Until I started working...In all honesty though, I do feel good when I go because I know I'm doing something great and that I can be proud of myself! It's awesome.

Today A and I did the cardio cinema and I put in 35 min on the elliptical while watching The Italian Job. I didn't pay attention to how far I went, Jason Statham was VERY distracting! I did a bunch of sit ups with an exercise ball, some weight machines and free weights and then we hit the pool. The pool is always were I feel it the most. It get's so exhausting swimming laps! We hit the hot tub as always. A great workout!

Tomorrow we have to play it by ear a little but we're hoping to meet at 10

Day 3 didn't go as planned...

So Friday morning A and I had plans to meet at the gym at 9. A has a bum knee and it was really bothering her so she had to reschedule and needless to say I didn't go by myself...BUT I did spend about 30 min doing the wii fit during Noah's afternoon nap. I'm a little disappointed in myself for only doing 30 min but I try to remind myself that's it's more than I would have done a week ago. So there's that. I can't bring myself to work out on the weekends, it seams sacrilegious. So, I will resume on Monday with renewed vigor!

1020-1030 1.5 miles on stationary bike
1030-1045 30lbs on chest press 40 reps, 40lbs on lat pull -I lost count of the reps...I think that means I did too many :)
1055-1105 laps in pool
1105-1115 hot tub......
1125 time to go home, made plans with A to be back at 9am

I mistakenly said yesterday that the first day is always the hardest. NOPE! The first is the easiest. You feel great about everything, you're not sore AT ALL and you have the satisfaction of being able to say I'm doing it! Day 2 sucks. You're fighting fatigue from day 1, muscles are sore that you long ago forgot you had and you're seriously starting to question your sanity in doing all this. This is where you come in...

Getting started!

Ok, I need your help! I'm going to get into shape if I have to die trying! Here is where I record what I did for exercise for the day and what progress I've made weight-loss wise. I need you all to cheer, inspire, encourage, and most importantly hold me accountable. I'm no good by myself, I have NO self-discipline. So I will hopefully get more accomplished if I know I have to answer to you at the end of the day.

Here are my goals. I know the address is 150 or bust but I'm trying not to put an emphasis on weight. I want to be healthy, feel good and look great. I am committing to going to the gym 3-5 times per week and doing some wii fit the other days I'm not at the gym. I will weigh in once a week and update my clothing size as they change. I will be doing my best at healthier eating although I won't be so dedicated as to blog about my caloric intake and whatnot. Here is where you come in: what greater motivation is there than knowing everyone close to you knows exactly what you weigh and that you're not doing something to change it. So I will. I CAN do this, if I really put my mind to it. Will you help me?
