Day 6 disappointment

800am
Weight: 229
Pants: 16-18
Shirt: XL

Well, I managed to gain three pounds this week and I'm totally bummed. There's nothing worse than working hard for something and getting the opposite result. Everyone keeps telling me it's muscle and that might be the case, it doesn't change the way I feel about it. I guess I'll have to work even harder this week.

Tonight I only did an hour at the gym instead of my regular two.
30 min and 2 miles on the elliptical.
50 crunches
5 min of free weights
1o min circuit training weights
10 min and 1.5 miles on the stationary bike

A and I made plans for Friday morning, hopefully it goes better than last week... :)

  2. Ok... 1. You are working muscles that have not been worked in HOW LONG? You will go up on the scale because you are retaining water. When you stop shocking the system and you aren't as sore all them time that is when you will start seeing smaller numbers. 2. Be of good cheer, exercise releases endorphins, endorphins make you happy and happy people don't kill their husbands. They just don't... so Ryan should be of good cheer too! I LOVE YOU! Keep up the good work!

  3. Oh, crap, this is why I hate scales!! But just remember you're not doing anything wrong Tiph - it's probably just water weight....or the muscles you're building. I've realize that there are 2 distinct types of people....those that can not lose weight (or even attempt it) without seeing the numbers on the scale and those rarely, if ever weigh themselves because they can't stand seeing those constantly fluctuating numbers. Those in the latter group (like me) just rely on their clothes to tell them if they've lost weight or not. The bottom line here is there's no right or wrong way, just figure out what works best for you and stick with it!
